Independence Day with Emily and Aaron

Happy VERY LATE 4th of July!!! ;)

And what are the holidays without family!?! I know, maybe July 4th isn't exactly the holiday being referred to in that quote, but it was still great to have some around for the week :) Jordan's sister, Emily, and her now "fiance", Aaron, came to visit us for the 4th...and we had a blast!! Best trip with them we have had by far. It was Kinsey's first time meeting her aunt and uncle, we ate Pinterest treats to our hearts content, and Emily and Aaron got engaged!! Seriously, what more could you ask for?

We picked them up at the airport and Kins was ready - all decked out in her Red, White, and Blue.  She totally knows what's up.

Bananas.
That day, Emily and Aaron started their trip with a visit to Snowbird - one of the resorts up Little Cottonwood Canyon. It is gorgeous up there and, although I was sad to miss out, it's just not a 5 month old's gig.  So Kins and I stayed behind, but she made me swear I'd take her next year ;)  Here are some of the pics - and mind you, this place is only about 30 minutes from our house - GORGEOUS!

Emily rode her 1st lift EVER! So brave! ;)

What an unbelievable place :)

Aaron showing his guns while hiking down 4,000 feet :)

They rode the Alpine slide, rode a lift to the top and hiked all the way back down.  Then stayed and had dinner. All in a day's work.

The next day, we decided to hike up to the Mount Timpanogas Cave.  It was seriously one of the most awesome things I've done, besides producing and growing another human being inside my abdomen, of course. :) It was my first time in a cave and I'm 28 YEARS old! Kinsey does it at 23 WEEKS old - what a showoff :P

It was a 1.5 mile hike up 1,200 ft and ends at the mouth of this amazing cave! The cave is almost a mile long, but we saw about 1,800 ft of it.  Kinsey did awesome on the way up but hilariously as soon as our guide takes us into the dark cave and says, "Alright, I'm going to give you guys some instructions"....she bursts out in a cry. Perfect. We were definitely "those people" at that moment. Luckily, she was ready for a nap so after fussing for about a minute she went straight to sleep in my arms and slept the entire way through the cave.  Great for her, not so great for my biceps! And there were a few parts that were a little dangerous to crawl through with a tiny baby in your arms, but my catlike reflexes and stellar strength got us through without a hitch :P

Taking a breather! So hot outside...and yet....

So cold inside!!

Our very knowledgeable, yet very dorky guide

Stellagmites and Stellagtites were abundant ;)

Cuties 0:)

Gorgeous view on the way down

Kins slept almost the whole way down...ahhh to be a child again

That night we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows with our friends, Christy, Clint, and Colter up Millcreek Canyon.  It was a beautiful night and although the smores weren't a recipe found on Pinterest, I was still able to enjoy them ;)

Emily and Aaron acutally left the campsite a little early to "go on a hike", but Aaron had a little something up his sleeve :)
Emily had no idea, but Aaron was about to propose marriage to her!!

Getting out his nervous energy before the big moment ;)

The Happy Couple :)
Celebrating with a little Champagne

When they got home, we all celebrated with a champagne toast! Congratulations guys, we really are sooo excited for you! Welcome to the family Uncle Aaron ;)  Oh, and guess who gets to be Maid of Honor!?!  That's right, yours truly.  I will do my best, Emily, to fill the role well.  We love you both so much! Now move out here, would you???
